Please join us for our annual Wear Pink Day, this Friday, October 13th. Please bring in a dollar and wear your favorite pink attire to help find a cure for Breast Cancer!
We will also be walking as the Ross Woodward Explorers Team this Sunday, October 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Point Park in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. All families are invited to join our team, raise money for this great cause and walk with us.
Together we will find a cure!!
Come join us for a night filled with Literacy Fun, on Wednesday, October 18th from 4:15-5:30 in the cafetorium. Every child will go home with a book that was turned into a movie! We will be exploring different literacy strategies, playing literacy games and looking at the countless books that have been made into movies. It is a wonderful event for families to share a love of reading with each other. Snacks will be served. Please send back your forms to reserve your spot!
Our Meet the Teacher/Open House was rescheduled due to the weather. Our new date is Tuesday, Octobober 3rd, 5:30-7:00p.m.
This is a great time to meet your child's teacher and learn all of the expectations and procedures that take place in your child's class as well as learn about the curriculum for your child's grade.

Our Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month will take place tomorrow evening at 4:15-5:30p.m. All students must be accompanied by an adult. We look forward to seeing everyone at this educational and fun-filled event. Doors will open at 4:15 and it will be held in the Cafetorium.

It was all a smiles here at school as we welcomed all of our students to Ross Woodward Classical Studies Magnet School for the 2017-2018 school year! We also welcomed to our school for the very first time all of our Pre-K school students and families! We know that they are going to love being a part of the RW family!
Congratulations to our scholars in 8th grade! We are so very proud of you! We wish you all of the best that life has to offer. As you begin your next chapter in your life please remember that you will always be a part of the Ross Woodward School Family and we are always here for you.
Take with you the strong bonds you have made and remember to always stay true to yourself! We will miss you all!!
Our students in Pre-K 3 and Pre-K 4 had their Step Up Ceremony and it was such a touching event! Our little ones sang their hearts out and their wasn't a dry eye in the house! They will now move on to Pre-K 4 and Kindergarten next year and we wish them well. Their free spirits and innocence always puts a smile on our faces!!
It was quite a delight to have the students from New Haven Academy assist the Ross Woodward School Community the other day! The children and staff had a wonderful time working with them and the staff was very impressed with how helpful and polite they were!
A big thank you to Mrs. Harris and the staff from New Haven Academy for Orchestrating this great event for our children!
We were delighted to partner with Red Skye Foundation last week to bring the students such a delightful morning! The children were able to meet and learn about service and therapy animals from the Red Skye Foundation. They were able to pet, brush and interact with these gentle animals and learn about the importance of their role in helping others!
The kids had such an enjoyable time we are looking forward to bringing them back again next year!
A beautiful celebration was had by all at our wonderful Kindergarten Celebration! The show was amazing and we are so proud of our students and staff for putting on such an enjoyable performance! The best of luck to them in first grade next year!
A fun day in the sun was had by all! The kids in grades Pre-K-8 all participated in a wide variety of activites throughout the day for Field Day! Every class was dressed in a special color as they rotated throughout the day to organized games for them to enjoy! A delicious lunch was prepared for them and they even got a visit from one of our favorite clowns Ronald McDonald! A big thank you to everyone who helped to make this day so much fun for our kids!!
The 6th graders had an awesome time visiting Mystic Aquarium and learning about the Ecosystems of various animals as part of their Magnet Unit! The children were very engaged in learning and very well-behaved! This was a great experience for our young learners!
Our final celebration of Student of The Month was a beautiful tribute to all of our Explorers who have work so hard this year. They set an example for our school community on how to show leadership qualities and to follow the Explorer's Way. We are so proud of them and know they will continue to work hard and exhibit exemplar behavior!
Career Day is always one of the most exciting days at our school! It is a day for the younger children to dress up in their favorite profession and a day for our older children to begin to explore what they want to do in their futures!
The entire school was so fortunate to engage with some phenomenal speakers and learn all about their careers!
We want to thank Mrs. Chiliquinga for orchestrating this wonderful learning experience and to all of our volunteers and speakers for making this day so successful!
Our projects were just amazing at the Museum Night!!! The staff and students outdid themselves with so many outstanding presentations and reports! Your hard work and dedication this year speaks volumes! We are so proud of all of the children and adults in our building who work so hard to put education as a top priority!!! A Job Well Done!!!
We had a wonderful night celebrating our great country and learning all about this fabulous nation we live in! A big thank you to the parents and staff for helping to make this evening so much fun with all of the fantastic outdoor activities and games! Our All-American Cook-Out was enjoyed by all, and a vision of Red, White and Blue made the evening even that more patriotic. Look for details in the near future for our upcoming events this Fall!
